Global temperature anomaly 2019

Some scientists suggesting a global cooling with the solar downturn in the next 30yrs or more .

I won’t be around for that long but why not take a few medical records of planet earth temperature anomaly this year.

It might be a good exercise just to keep a tab’

“During the ARGO era, the greatest warming to depths of 2000 meters occurred at the lower mid-latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere and the mid-latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere. The greatest cooling occurred in the mid-to-high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, with a comparatively slight cooling in the lower latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere and in the Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica. Note also that the cooling in the Northern Hemisphere encompasses more than the Arctic”

The KNMI Climate Explorer has added a number of datasets to their Monthly observations webpage, where users select desired data based on global coordinates. (Many thanks to Dr. Geert Jan van Oldenborgh of KNMI.)  The new datasets include, under the heading of Ocean mean temperature, the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) Vertically Averaged Temperature Anomaly data of the global oceans.  The data are supported by the Levitus et al. (2009) (2012) paper World Ocean Heat Content and Thermosteric Sea Level change (0-2000 m),1955-2010.  Basically, the NODC Vertically Averaged Temperature data are the temperature component of their Ocean Heat Content data.  KNMI has added the vertically averaged temperature anomaly data for the depth ranges of 0-100 meters (1955 to present), 0-700 meters (1955 to present) and 0-2000 meters (2005 to present).

Note: KNMI has also added to their Climate Explorer the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) Ocean Heat Content data for…

Bipolar Seesaw

The Bipolar Seesaw concept describes the antiphasing of Greenland and Antarctic temperature changes along with Dansgaard Oeschger climatic oscillations and Heinrich Events during the last glacial period. Sudden changes in the Thermohaline Circulation affect the polar climate in both hemispheres through changes in the south – northward heat transport. Once freshwater influx in the North Atlantic turns down the Thermohaline Circulation, the northern hemisphere cools down while the southern hemisphere and tropics heat up. Once the deep-water formation turns on again, the meridional heat transfer resumes, and the northern hemisphere warms while the southern hemisphere looses heat

Observing changes to the annual Northern and Southern Hemisphere temperatures and surface pressure

To snap the global temperature ( Kelvin) map every month from AUGUST 2013 to Aug’ 2014 and note how the spatial temperature pattern changes annually.

Notice the coldest temperatures are in the Antartic for the month of AUGUST.
AUGUST is the last month of winter in the southern hemisphere.

From the above map
In August 2013 .The North African latitudes are recording some of the hottest temperatures in the orange band around ~ 300 Kelvin. The converter in the above link estimates the temperature in many parts of nth Africa as 26.85 deg C
That seems quite low?
However shift up only 10 deg kelvin to 310 K and we have a different story!!
The temperature is now 36.85 deg C!! Much hotter.
This infers that the map posted above has a low resolution. It is designed to just roughly show the temperature variation across the globe which is suitable for our purposes of this study. Just looking at general seasonal trends
