  1. There is a repeating cycle across the Holocene that can be seen when looking at the solar proxy record. The solar proxy record is reasonably accurate (10 year resolution) so we should be able to use it to predict the future.

    If we are going to use planet positions associated with the solar path about the barycentre we know that the outer 4 planets only repeat every 4628 years. So there should be a 4628 repeating pattern across the Holocene?….and there is.

    So if we go back 4628 years we are at the same position as 2522BC. This tells us we have at least a 1000 years before we will encounter any large solar grand minima event. Of interest the future planet positions predict exactly that, as there is no major planetary alignment in the next 1000 years capable of producing a deep grand minimum.

    The planetary alignments mentioned hindcast the Holocene to a high degree of accuracy…so we should have confidence in the method?

  2. Hi Geoff,
    That’s a beautiful graph, Steinhilber and Beer have been two of of my favorite
    researchers for a very long time.
    We have two major spikes, one at 9000 BC and another at 2000 AD, containing
    two cycles irregular in length averaging about 5500 years.
    There’s a third spike at about 9500 BC and just prior to that, I believe, is the
    huge drop-off into the trough of the last Ice-age cycle.
    An inter-glacial period is just too small of a sample size to effectively examine
    a cycle as large as the 4628 year alignment cycle. You could make the same
    argument about my 500 year climate projection graph. It has a 10Be sample of
    1030 years and I’m examining a 144 year cycle. Fortunately for me, I’m only using
    it for additional support of a main theme that could easily stand on it’s own.

    I would like an aggressive and honest critique of ‘my’ research. I hope you
    stick around. Beat me like a red-headed step-child.

  3. I have some doubts about the spikes (red) on the 14C graph. The 2000 record is not 14C and is the authors interpretation, most think its too high. The spikes at 9000BC are from records taken from coral, you can see the record change drastically at around 6000BC, I have reduced confidence prior to 6000BC.

    Because there is a limit on solar angular momentum, velocity etc I would expect a ceiling on solar activity like around 2000BC.

  4. To get back on topic:
    For a while now, I have been a believer of Ray Tomes’s ‘Harmonic Theory’.
    Which lead me to Rolf Witzche’s theory of ‘The Variable Sun’ (‘The Electric
    Universe’). Which also forced me to let go of much of what I’ve believed to be true
    about our solar system.
    I don’t have Ray’s expertise, but what I’ve gleaned from his work was:
    Certain frequencies persist in nature because they have accumulated strength.
    such as 144: {2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16, 18, 24, 36, 48, 72, 144}
    Our solar system is a wheel badly out of balance, so at the grand level it has an
    imperfect copy of these natural frequencies. The vast majority of solar systems
    in our galaxy have imperfect copies of these natural frequencies. But the sum total
    of all solar systems and galaxies combine to form and share the perfect set of
    frequencies electrically via plasma. At least this is how I see Rolf Witzche’s theory playing out.
    So… I found that there is a 144 year cooling cycle
    …….. a 1008 (144 x 7) year millennial cycle
    …….. and a 25776 (144 x 179) year axial precession cycle

    Scafetta, 2012. ‘Multi-scale harmonic model for solar and climate cyclical

    In this 2012 paper, Nicola Scafetta constructs a model by combining the
    61 year cycle with Ogurtsov’s 114 year cycle. Scafetta found a nice fit
    between Ogurtsov’s 114 and Ljungqvist’s temperature data. The end
    product, although, used a combination of {61, 115, 130, 983} year values.
    Scafetta was suggesting that because of the fit between Ogurtsov’s 114 year
    cycle and Ljungqvist’s temperature data that this shows that the named
    minimums are separated by 114 years (115 in his case).
    In the posts ahead I hope to convince others that even-though there is a
    114 year period of cooling it is not the period that separates the named
    minimums {O, W, S, M, D, G}. It is much too short.
    The sun has a physically real side-to-side motion and in addition to that it also has
    side-to-side vibrations such as our obliquity and axial precession cycles.
    I intend to show the connection between side-to-side vibration and the
    separation of the named minimums.

    cycles even-though they are not divisible by 19.8593122389 yrs. A conjunction
    cycle of this type can be defined as: The average amount of time it takes for
    a J/S alignment to occur in the same location with respect to the stars. This
    type of conjunction cycle is important because the motion of the sun rotates
    with the alignments of Jupiter and Saturn. The reversal of the sun’s outwardly
    directed acceleration, to specific rhythms, is what creates side-to-side vibration.

    These last two equations show just how powerful side-to-side vibration is.
    The sun’s distance from the barycentre appears insignificant when compared
    to the great distances of the planets. Deceptively, the sun appears to be lacking
    leverage. The sun is hundreds of times more massive than all it’s satellites
    and can throw us around with just it’s vibrations. These vibrations manifest
    themselves as natural cycles, especially when these vibrations
    have direction, acceleration and periodicity.

    Let’s walk back and forth across a field. But while we’re walking, let’s repeatedly
    take ten steps forward and five steps back. We’ve just combined two types of
    motions (vibrations). The sun has layers of vibration, waves oscillating on waves
    oscillating on waves oscillating on waves oscillating on w …..
    The sun’s motion is vibration on a grand scale. The sun’s inner core and the solar
    system’s center of mass can be separated by as much as 1,196,000 km. The total
    side-to-side distance could be more. The 60 and 114 year cycles are time quantities
    and not distances but the rules are the same.

    “Solar cycles are numbered from a minimum to a minimum since Cycle 1 of 1755/1766, the maximum was in 1761. And now we come to the cycle No. 24 which had its absolute minimum in late 2008 and should have its maximum around 2013. According to the law of GO (Gnevyshev-Oh) an odd-numbered cycle is more active and thus more sunspots that the number is even cycle preceding it. This allows to have an idea of solar activity cycles odd.

    But during these 23 cycles, the law of GO was raped by three pairs of odd-even cycles. Those are the cycle No. 4-5 so the solar cycle from 1785 to 1798 and from 1798 to 1810, the cycles No. 8-9 so the solar cycle from 1834 to 1843 and from 1843 to 1856 and then the cycles No. 22- 23 from 1985 to 1996 and from 1996 to 2007 is because contrary to the law of the GO odd-numbered cycle is more active than the preceding even cycle.

    If as was indicated Mr Hathaway (NASA, member of the panel forecasting the solar cycle) cycle No. 25 could be one of the lowest in the last century then there will be violation of the law between the GO N cycles 24 and 25 °.

    Violations of the law GO place near a time when the orbital motion of the Sun around the center of gravity is retrograde and when the orbital angular momentum of the Sun decreases a lot and quickly. At these times there was approximately an alignment of Jupiter-Sun-Saturn-Uranus-Neptune so the center of gravity is near the center of the Sun and reverse with an alignment of the Sun-Jupiter-Saturn-Uranus-Neptune around 6 years after the more or nearly one year. So a quick change in the distance between the Sun and the center of gravity. Because when Saturn-Uranus-Neptune are on the same side of the Sun while Jupiter has a shorter orbital period varies very quickly the distance between the Sun and the center of gravity.

    Below you have the position of the gas planets at two points given during solar cycles that have violated the law of GO. For the first two where the date is less than the beginning of the numbering of solar cycles, the law of GO has been raped but can not Verily know.

    As we see the alignment of gaseous planets are all on the same side and between 5 and 7 years later, Jupiter is on the other side of the Sun and the other gas planets are the opposite side of Jupiter.”
    “This alignment of gas planets happens every 179.60 years. This is why the Sun orbits the center of gravity and center of gravity of the solar system are reproduced sequentially with a period of 179.60 years.     Each vertical dashes represent a rapid variation of the orbital angular momentum of the Sun occurs when the center of the Sun passes close to the center of gravity, resulting in variations in angle theta fast and therefore an angular velocity that can become very high. Either when Jupiter is the opposite of the four Jovian planets from the Sun, as was the case in 1632 and 1672, 1811, 1851, 1990 and soon in 2030.

    As we can see, the two dashes returning every 179 years or when the law of GO is not followed and thus the odd cycle is less active than the preceding even cycle contrary to what it should be. Each of these vertical dashes couples are near a periods of solar activity and temperature of the northern hemisphere are low or

  20. Now is a good time to summarize what we’ve done up to this point. We’re beginning
    to get very tangled up in the terminology misused to describe all these vibrations.
    Summary:
    . a) At it’s base level, the sun accelerates and decelerates in ~9.929 year periods.
    During this ~9.929 year period, the direction of it’s acceleration swings covering a
    range of about 121 degrees. When comparing these ~9.929 year periods one with
    another, it is the change in direction at the points of maximum acceleration that we
    should consider.
    . b) It takes ~2649.63 years for the outwardly directed acceleration of the sun’s
    tri-synodic pattern to rotate 360 degrees. The tri-synodic pattern has three equal
    parts, so there is an ~883.21 (2649.63 / 3) year period in which the sun’s outward
    acceleration returns to the same area and is pointed in the same direction. The
    ~883.21 year period is the average amount of time it takes for a Jup/Sat alignment
    to occur in the same location relative to the solar system’s center of mass and
    the stars. This is important because the sun’s pattern of motion rotates with the
    alignments of Jupiter and Saturn. The ~883.21 year period is not evenly divisible

    The special conjunction cycle of P = 114.027955425 years, will return to the same
    location accelerating in the same direction. The conjunction cycle P is special not
    only because of it’s return to the same location but also because of it’s connection
    with it’s underlying physical mechanism. P’s underlying mechanism is the physical
    rotation of the outwardly directed acceleration of the sun to a specific periodicity.
    Both periods P and 2P will return to the same location accelerating in the same
    direction, but P and 2P have their differences. The period P / 2 will reverse the
    direction of it’s acceleration while period 2P / 2 will not. Even multiples of P are
    further distanced from the underlying physical mechanism and the larger the
    multiple the greater the distance. Period P has a special resonance and strength
    which is re-enforced by period P / 2’s side-to-side motion of the sun. Frequencies
    that resonate with the sun’s side-to-side motion manifest themselves as the
    natural cycles of climate.

    Yes, the sun has a very complex motion. As it orbits the solar system’s center
    of mass, it does a three part looping pattern (epi-trochoid) all-the-while alternating
    periods of acceleration and deceleration. The earth-moon system has to follow
    the sun in it’s looping motion and gets pulled along by these ~9.929 year pulses of
    acceleration. The sun tugs on the earth and the earth tugs on the moon.

  26. The reason I’m so interested in the electric universe is that it is the simplest
    explanation for the ice age cycles. If the magnetic fields of the planets, the sun
    and nearby stars are all inter-connected, this would best support the argument
    for 90,000 years of hibernation. I think Rolf Witzche is correct in saying that
    the Milankovic cycles could never initiate or sustain 90,000 years of ice.

    The video on helical motion shows a sun barreling along at 486,000 mph with
    the planets orbiting the sun on a plane that appears to be perpendicular to
    the galaxy’s plane. Inferring that if we stood in the path of the sun, looking
    down the barrel, we would see the planets in a somewhat circular orbit and
    the sun muffling it’s barycentric orbit.
    In reality, the solar system’s plane is inclined ~63 degrees to the galaxy’s.
    This means that we wouldn’t be looking down a barrel, but rather, we would
    have a two dimensional view that would appear elliptical. We would also see
    the sun wobble around the solar system’s CM and that motion to, would appear
    two dimension-ally to be more elliptical (side-to-side).
