frost in armidale

“seabreeze’ from Weatherzone forum has posted some great statistics on frost frequency in Armidale since the year 2000 to current 2014

Early-Mid April is the typical time to see the first frost of the year in Armidale. The last frost of the year is less predictable though.

What l like is that the last 3 years have had over 100 frost days. 3 years in a row has not happened before since 2000
However ironically the last 3 years has had the warmest , coldest 3 yrs 2011-2013 since 2000
and the coldes night in the past 13 years was in 2010 at minus -11.2deg c

  1. Interesting, congrat’s to Seabreeze for providing some very clear data relating to whether warming (or not), is being sensed in his location.

… 3 years of frostier than normal” cant be ignored!

One of the wonderful things about INDEPENDENT AMATEUR weather watchers like ‘seabreeze ‘ and ‘surly bond’ is that we can compare these results with the records of the BOM and CSIRO who have a monopoly on climate data collection with no independent auditors
A great quality control mechanism is to have these ‘weather watchers’ hot on the tail of the BOM and CSIRO either deliberately or inadvertently..
and they do this for no monetary gain. Just a hobby.
I often wonder what the BOM and CSIRO would be like if they were privatised?
    cough..splurt..
Open to all sorts of fraud and commercial manipulation no doubt

The weather news taking about Sydney having a record number of days over 22 deg c in a row and more to come.
Will have to look for something in writing somewhere

Certainly we have had a long stalling high in the Tasman and the westerly belt has been contracted quite south currently. A recipe for extremes
