Antartic oscillation (AAO) finally plunges and westerly belt gives southern Australia a ‘lickin’

The Antartic Oscillation ( AAO) or sometimes referred to as SAM
has gone strongly negative and is around minus 4
That is as far as the scale goes!!

THe purported effect is to send our westerly wind and low pressure belt northward
Well certainly the southern latitudes have seen the westerly belt bring bands of showers, rain and wind
