At least 58 die in Nepal monsoon disasters
“FLOODING in the south-western district of Surkhet has killed 21 people, according to Kantipur Television. At least 44 were missing.
Seven people were killed when a swollen river swept them away in Dang district, also in south-western Nepal.
In nearby Bardiya district, five were dead and 15 were missing in floods. Four people were killed in floods in Banke district.
Sixteen people were reported killed by landslides in several districts.
The torrential rains obstructed major highways and stranded hundreds, while hundreds more have been displaced by flooding in the southern plains.

“In the last 48 hours, Uttarakhand has lost at least 25 lives in separate incidents of landslides, cloudburst and flashfloods caused by the incessant rains.
As per the Met department’s latest prediction, heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places especially in Nainital and Pithoragarh in the next 12 hours beginning from 16th August morning”

“Over 12 lakh people have been affected in floods in 16 districts of Assam. Many rivers, including the mighty Brahmaputra and its tributaries, continue to flow above the danger level, the authorities said Wednesday.
Flood affected people use a raft to move to a safer place at Naharkata in Dibrugarh dist of Assam on Tuesday.
